This designation means that PSP adheres to evidence-based practice parameters and quality assurance standards. It also ensures that all staff are highly skilled and qualified, and that the cleanliness and comfort of our clinic environment is unsurpassed.

How PSP achieved accreditation

PSP began the accreditation process by completing a lengthy application package and submitting it to the AASM national office. The application was reviewed by the Accreditation Committee to ensure complete compliance with all accreditation standards. Once compliance was established, PSP received an on-site visit from an AASM representative who thoroughly reviewed all practice policies and records, and interviewed all staff members and consulting physicians. After reviewing the on-site visit report, the AASM Board of Directors made the decision to offer PSP full accreditation.

AASM accreditation is the gold standard by which patients, organizations and companies evaluate sleep disorders centers. In fact, third party payers in many states will only provide reimbursement for sleep studies if they are conducted at an AASM-accredited facility.

Sleep centers and laboratories that aren’t AASM accredited simply to do not meet the high standards for clinical accuracy and quality patient care. A sleep laboratory provides diagnostic and treatment services limited to sleep-related breathing disorders, such as obstructive sleep apnea syndrome.
