In 2006 he completed internship, residency and ultimately a year of chief residency in Psychiatry at Oregon Health and Science University in Portland Oregon. In 2007 he completed an accredited fellowship in Sleep Disorders Medicine at Stanford University in Palo Alto, California.

Professional Experience

He was involved in the teaching of sleep medicine fellows, psychiatry residents, and medical and physician assistant students. He has publications related to sleep apnea, hypersomnias (such as narcolepsy), sleep disruption and the identification and classification of various sleep disorders.

Primary medical practice focus has been on the diagnosis and treatment of sleep disorders. Areas of specialized training include sleep disordered breathing including all forms of sleep apnea (obstructive, central, complex) and the tailoring of team based treatment plans (including CPAP, BIPAP, Servo Ventilation, dental and surgical interventions) to fit individual patients needs; pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic treatments for insomnia and CPAP desensitization; and hypersomnias (ie narcolepsy). Furthermore, he has interests in a broad range of other sleep disorders including chronobiologic (body clock) disorders, parasomnias, restless legs and REM behavior disorder.

He has been a member of our Pacific Sleep Program team since June 2009. He enjoys consulting and research activities and maintains an affiliate position within the Department of Psychiatry at Oregon Health and Science University.
